| The
Courts Committee acts as a liaison between the Bench and the Bar.
The Committee addresses concerns of the Bar about the practice of
law and brings them to the attention of the Bench. The
Committee also brings from the Bench to the Bar concerns that the
Bench may have about such matters as the quality of legal services
being rendered or steps the Bench may wish to take to make the
courts more efficient without sacrificing the quest for justice in
each case. Over recent years, the Bar Association has been
working with various local courts to develop or update local rules
of practice. The Committee Chair also reviews and passes
upon qualification for lawyers who wish to handle court-appointed
criminal cases, and the Chair responds to inquiries, most often
from inmates, sent to the Bar Association. |
